Conservation Challenges of Small Felids: Case Studies on Pallas's Cat and European Wildcat
Otgontamir Chimed

Small felids are often overlooked compared to their larger counterparts. The European wildcat and Pallas's cat are examples of such species. Their small body size, secretive behavior, and low population densities make them exceptionally difficult to study, resulting in limited knowledge about their ecology and conservation strategy. This study provides detailed insights into the local and regional threats, distribution patterns, and habitat use of these two small cats using the same research methodology. It highlights the urgent conservation needs for endangered small felids across different regions, with a particular focus on wildcats in Hungary and Pallas's cats in Mongolia.
