Notre équipe s’intéresse aux processus de différenciation entre populations naturelles et entre individus, à différentes échelles spatiales et temporelles. Ces processus peuvent concerner les marqueurs génétiques, les traits d’histoire de vie et/ou la morphologie. Identifier le rôle de l’environnement et de l’écologie dans ces patrons de différenciation est au cœur de notre démarche, avec un intérêt particulier pour l’importance relative de la sélection et des contraintes développementales dans la diversification. L’hybridation entre (sous)espèces comme facteur de différenciation mais aussi comme menace pour les espèces sauvages est également étudiée.
Nos organismes modèles favoris sont les petits rongeurs, les petits et méso carnivores, et les ongulés.
Les approches mobilisées sont diverses : analyses de données spatiales et/ou longitudinales, démographie et traits d’histoire de vie, phylogénie, génétique et génomique des populations, morphométrie. Une caractéristique de notre démarche est la volonté de coupler ces approches afin de mieux comprendre l’évolution des groupes d’intérêt.
Notre équipe développe des projets de recherche fondamentale aussi bien que de conservation et gestion de la faune sauvage.
